THE BORING BUT
IMPORTANT BIT.

By booking an It’s a Play Thing event, you agree to the following.

GROWN-UPS ONLY.

Our events are for adults aged 18 and over. If you book for other people, it’s your job to make sure everyone in your group is 18+.

PLAY RESPONSIBLY.

Our events involve making things. That can mean scissors, craft knives, glue, paint, tools, small objects and other materials depending on what we’re doing.

We’ll provide instructions where they’re needed. Please use the materials and tools sensibly, follow any safety instructions and tell us if something doesn’t look right.

You take part at your own risk. We aren’t responsible for injury, loss or damage caused by misuse of equipment or materials, ignoring reasonable instructions, or your own actions.

Nothing here excludes or limits our responsibility where the law says we can’t, including for death or personal injury caused by our negligence.

DRINK + SCISSORS = USE YOUR JUDGEMENT.

Some of our events happen in venues serving alcohol. You’re responsible for deciding whether you’re in a fit state to use the tools and materials provided.

If we think someone is putting themselves or other people at risk, we can ask them to stop taking part or leave the event.

WEAR SOMETHING YOU WON’T MOURN.

Paint spills. Glue sticks. Ink gets places you weren’t expecting.

We’ll do our best to keep things reasonably contained, but we can’t take responsibility for damage to clothes or personal belongings during normal participation in the activity.

ALLERGIES + SENSITIVITIES.

We use different materials at different events, including paints, inks, adhesives and occasionally food or natural materials.

If you have an allergy, sensitivity or other requirement that might affect your participation, please contact us before booking and we’ll tell you what we’re using.

CHANGED YOUR MIND?

Tickets are for a specific event and date.

If you can’t make it, you’re welcome to give your place to another adult. Just let us know the name of the person coming instead.

Tickets are otherwise non-refundable if you decide not to attend.

IF WE HAVE TO CANCEL.

Sometimes life gets in the way.

If we cancel an event, we’ll offer you a full refund or, where possible, the option to move your booking to another date.

If we have to postpone an event, you can move your booking to the new date or request a refund.

We may occasionally need to make small changes to the activity, timings or venue. If there’s a significant change, we’ll let you know.

FOOD + DRINK.

Unless we specifically say otherwise, food and drink are not included in your ticket.

If you buy something from the venue, that transaction is between you and them.

DON’T BE A DICK.

It’s a Play Thing should feel comfortable, welcoming and easy to join in with.

We can ask someone to leave if they’re being abusive, discriminatory, threatening, seriously disruptive or unsafe.

If we have to remove someone because of their behaviour, we won’t normally refund their ticket.

YOUR STUFF.

Please look after your belongings. We can’t accept responsibility for items that are lost, stolen or damaged unless that loss or damage was caused by something we did negligently.

PHOTOS.

We sometimes take photographs or short videos at our events for the It’s a Play Thing website and social media.

We’ll make this clear at the event. If you don’t want to be photographed, just tell us. No awkward explanation required.

FINALLY.

By completing your booking, you’re confirming that you’ve read and accepted these terms.
